Getting started
How do I start a game?
On the Play tab, tap Start a game. Pick the course, date and format, set any side games (skins, close-ups), add players, then review and create. Everyone you add gets an invite.
How do friends join my game?
Send them the invite link from the game, or share the 6-character game code. They tap the link, or enter the code under Join Game in the app.
What is "Run it back"?
On a finished game you manage, Run it back creates next week's game with the same course and settings, and invites your group. Groups fill themselves with everyone who has played in or been invited to the group's games.
Scoring
Who can enter scores?
Any player in the game can enter scores for their tee time. Scores show on every phone a moment after you tap Save, and the leaderboard updates live.
What happens with no signal on the course?
Keep scoring. Your scores are saved on your phone and sent automatically when you get signal again. A banner shows while anything is waiting to send. Each score is saved separately, so nobody's scores overwrite anyone else's.
How are net scores and handicap strokes worked out?
Your course handicap is calculated from your handicap index and the tee's rating and slope. Holes where you get a stroke are marked on the scorecard, and net scores subtract those strokes.
How do skins and Canadian skins work?
A skin goes to the single lowest score on a hole; ties win nothing. With Canadian skins in a net game, a gross score beats a net score of the same number, and a lower net score still wins.
What is 6/6/6?
A four-player game where partners change every six holes (every three on a 9-hole round). The pair with the better ball on a hole each get a dot; fewest dots at the end buys. Ties can be settled by comparing dots on the hardest holes.
How do I fix a score after the round?
Played rounds are locked so results and payouts can't change. The game manager can choose ⚙️ → Reopen Round in the app (or fix it on the website's game page) and fix the score. A reopened round finishes on its own 2 hours after the last change. More
How do I measure a close-up? (Pin Point)
On the close-up hole, tap Tap to record closest, then Pin Point it. Aim the dot at the ball and tap Set ball, then at the center of the cup and tap Set cup. The distance fills in (in feet and inches) and a Pin Point photo goes to the gallery when you save. Pin Point is in beta: it's most accurate on iPhone Pro models, and shadows or low light can throw it off on other iPhones (like the iPhone 13). Check close calls with a tape. More
Gallery and notifications
Who can see my messages and photos?
Only players in that game. Messages sent to one player (shown with a lock) are seen only by you and that player.
How do I change which notifications I get?
Go to Profile → Notifications. You can turn off everything, all automated alerts, or each kind separately (birdies, skins, close-ups, group chat, photos and more).
I'm not getting notifications.
Check that notifications are allowed for Big Show Golf in iPhone Settings, and that they're on in Profile → Notifications. Signing out and back in refreshes your phone's connection.
Your account
How do I change my name, photo or handicap?
Go to Profile → Edit Profile.
It says my phone number is already in use.
Each phone number can be linked to one Big Show Golf account, so nobody can take over your invites. If yours is on another account (maybe an old one), send us a message from the email on your account and we'll move the number to you.
I forgot my password.
On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password? and we'll email you a reset link.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Profile → Delete Account, or use the account deletion page. Your login, profile, photo, phone number, groups and pending invitations are removed. Scores from games you played with others stay on those scorecards so their results stay complete.
