Money settings
Set a buy-in, skins and close-ups. The rest of the buy-in pays the main prize.
Turn on Playing for money to set what each player puts in. Big Show Golf works out who won what; players settle up between themselves (Venmo handles are on each player's profile).
The buy-in
Buy-in per player is what each player puts in. It's split into up to three pots:
- Skins: the amount per player you set for skins.
- Close-ups: the amount per player you set for closest to the pin.
- Main prize: whatever's left of the buy-in, paid by the format's results.
For example, a $20 buy-in with $5 skins and $5 close-ups leaves $10 per player for the main prize. Skins and close-ups can't add up to more than the buy-in.
Tap a money box to clear it and type the new amount; leave it empty and it goes back to what it was.
Skins
A player wins a hole's skin by making the lowest score on it alone. If two or more tie for low, nobody wins that hole. The skins pot is shared out by the skins won.
Canadian skins (net games only): a net score can't beat the same score made gross. If someone makes a gross birdie, a net birdie doesn't win the skin.
Skins handicap (net games only): skins can use their own percent of each player's Course Handicap, separate from the game's handicap allowance. For example, the game at 100% and skins at 80%: a player with a Course Handicap of 15 gets 15 strokes in the game and 12 for skins. Choose it with the skins setting when you create or edit the game (Same as game, or 50% to 100%).
Close-ups
Pick the close-up holes (the par 3s are chosen for you). On each one, the player closest to the pin wins that hole's share of the close-ups pot. In Front / Back / Overall you can have close-ups pay the whole team, split between the winner's tee time.
Players who don't finish
Turn on DNF players win nothing to keep them out of every prize, including skins and close-ups. Putting an X on a hole score is DNF.
Front / Back / Overall
The buy-in is split evenly across the bets: front 9, back 9, overall, plus skins and close-ups if they're on. The screen shows each bet's share per player.
Not playing for money
Leave Playing for money off for bragging rights only. The leaderboard and format results work the same; skins and close-ups are part of the money settings, so they're off too.
